What is the Homebrew Channel?

The Homebrew Channel is a self-updating homebrew application loader which allows users to load homebrew applications on the Wii. Once installed, users can access the channel from the Wii Menu just like any other Wii channel. It can launch homebrew applications from an SD or SDHC card.  You can install the Homebrew Channel on System Menu 4.0.

I already updated to Wii System Menu 4.0.  Can I still install the Homebrew Channel?

Yes you can; however, we recommend reading one of the guides available on the tutorial page to make sure everything goes smoothly and that you don't brick your Wii.
  • Can I easily uninstall the Homebrew Channel?
  • Of course, just remove it as any other ordinary gamesave or channel through "data management" in the Wii settings menu.
